After a couple weeks of snow, the light today was quintessential Vermont radiant light. What a great day to be in the studio, and to tackle two pieces that were challenging.
This monoprint image above was saturated with rich color, and how to break into the intensity of that saturation was its challenge. The image below was equally challenging because it was a July day in which everything was perfect. So how does one add an atmospheric edge to "perfect," or is it even desirable to do so?
By the end of the day's natural light, I had solved only these two pieces, but I had been avoiding these two, so I am grateful for the progress. Tomorrow, it's off to the photographer with 42 more images. I am feeling dangerously smug.
